Probabilistic Inference and Logical Models
Idea & Motivation
This workshop’s theme is the connection of probabilistic assessment and logical structure. The topical question is: given a logical background theory that connects the available evidence to a specific statement of interest, how strongly ought one believe in that statement on the basis of the available evidence? Which truth value(s?) ought/can we assign to it? What is its probability?
This workshop aims to bring together the network members’ perspectives on reasoning about logically structured domains. It will also appeal to other researchers working on probabilistic reasoning/inductive logic, as well as logical update structures and judgement aggregation. Similarly to the first workshop, time will be allocated for presentations by network members of research in a (very) early stage.
